Reciprocal highlights an ongoing fascination with memory and collecting. The series consists of letters, cards, envelopes, and stamps exchanged between two lovers. Each letter is merged with its related elements to create a single composite image, turning correspondence into tangible representations of a life lived at a distance.

The photomontages come from an agreement between the artist and her partner: during a prolonged separation in the summer of 1998, they exchanged a card each day. These daily exchanges become the raw material for the work, transforming private communication into a visual archive.

Reciprocal met en évidence une fascination continue pour la mémoire et la collection. La série se compose de lettres, cartes, enveloppes et timbres échangés entre deux amants. Chaque lettre fusionne avec les éléments qui lui sont liés pour former une seule image composite, transformant la correspondance en représentation tangible d’une vie vécue à distance.

Les photomontages proviennent d’un accord entre l’artiste et son conjoint : durant une séparation prolongée à l’été 1998, ils ont échangé une carte par jour.
